Scores and What's Left

I got all of my scores back and here they are:

AFOQT:  98 Pilot, 98 Navigator, 98 Academic Aptitude, 92 Verbal, 96 Quantitative (98/98/98/92/96)

PCSM:84

I am definitely disappointed in my PCSM score.  I was hoping for a 90 or above.  The TBAS kicked my butt.  I will definitely retake if I don't get selected.

Waiting on my recruiter to confirm my MEPS date for Feb. 14th.  I'll update when I know more.

  3. I'm enlisted in the AF, finishing my degree in Systems and Network Administration in August and am heavily interested in OTS. I have begun reading up on test prep/memorizing directions. I want to thank you for the knowledge you have shared, I appreciate it. What do you do in the AF ? How important is a strong GPA/5 EPR ratings in the selection process (Any insight on the difficulty of becoming a COM officer ?), no where near as important as test scores ? Thanks !

    1. Thanks for reading the blog. I'm not "officially" part of the AF yet. I am slated for BOT 13-08 on July 9th. When (if) I get commissioned I will be a pilot trainee. In my opinion GPA is very important, especially for non-rated boards. However, this is only my personal opinion by observing the FY11 and FY12 boards. AFOQT scores seem to matter less (especially for rated applicants), but don't seem to have a major impact unless they are very low. I would say that an overall above-average package is better than a package with near perfect test scores that is lacking in the interview, resume, or personal statement. I have no idea about being a COM officer. Good luck on your journey.
